摘要
Background Bronchial thermoplasty (BT) is a non-pharmacological treatment for severe asthma. It is based on selective heating of the airways aiming to improve asthma symptoms by targeting structural components of the airways. Asthma is considered an umbrella diagnosis for pathologies with distinct mechanistic pathways (endotypes) and clinical presentations (phenotypes) which are key elements for precision medicine in the heterogeneous asthma profiles. The aim of our study was to evaluate the effect of BT on histopathological findings in asthma patients with different endotypes and phenotypes.
