CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN THE MUNICIPAL MANAGEMENT OF AMECAMECA, MEXICO

Citizen participation involves individuals in the public space and influences government decision-making to improve the quality and living conditions of the community. It improves government management when its typology is institutional and spontaneous, ensuring better levels of performance and living standars. The key question is what is the type of citizen participation that is registered in the municipal management of Amecameca, Mexico, both in the period 2016-2019 and in 2019-2021?: Thus, the hypothesis that arises is that this type of citizen during the trienniums 2016-2019 and 2019-2021, is reduced to the institutional one stipulated in the law while the spontaneous one is null and void. The main results, from a documentary review procedure and direct observation, locate an institutional and patronage participation limiting the involvement of citizens in the public sphere and government management.
