摘要
The needs of fast charging capability of high energy density Li-ion batteries are increasing to enable fast charge of battery-powered electric vehicles. However, not only lithium-plating event and sluggish diffusion kinetics of graphite anode but also limited diffusion kinetics of cathode hamper fast charging Li-ion batteries. Various approaches like surface coating of active materials, adopting new active materials, designing electrolytes and others are ongoing to improve high-rate performance of batteries. We have been developing a method to promote lithium diffusion kinetics of nickel-rich cathode active material through structural modification. In this presentation, we will report the effects of structural modification of NCM622 cathodes on the cycling performance under extremely fast charge conditions (4C~6C) and interfacial resistance change.
