Dynamic monitoring and modeling of the growth-poverty-inequality trilemma in the Nile River Basin with consistent night-time data (2000–2020)

•A novel technical framework was proposed for dynamical economic development monitoring and the GPI trilemma modeling with NTL RS approach.•A new NTL-based GDP estimation and spatialization strategy was developed for regions without abundant field surveying data.•The GPI trilemma in the Nile River basin was firstly modeled combined with NTL RS data and statistical data.•The inter-relationships between each of the economic growth, poverty and inequality were discussed.
