Abstract
•SrHAp cellular crystal spheres have been synthesized by using citrate-induced homogeneous precipitation method.•Sr2+ was induced by C6H5O73- to form a 3D grid structure.•The Sr2+ concentration gradient will be form in the 3D grid structure.•Sr2+ concentration gradient phase transition driving force was discussed under the concentration gradient.•The formation mechanism of the SrHAp cellular crystal and its spheres was analyzed.
