Abstract
HighlightsFour occurrences of High-Silica Rhyolites (> 75 wt.% SiO 2 ) are described in Iceland.Allanite have been found in Icelandic High Silica Rhyolites suggesting a plagiogranite source.Icelandic High-Silica Rhyolites are generated by the partial melting of plagiogranite. This is a new petrogenetic model for a poorly studied type of Icelandic rhyolite.
