A Boy with Recurrent Erythema and Blisters

Mastocytosis is a heterogeneous disorder characterized by the pathological increase and accumulation of mast cells (MCs) in different tissues and organs. It is divided into several forms. Diffuse cutaneous mastocytosis (DCM) is an extremely rare and severe variant that usually manifests with erythema, dermal thickening and edema with a typical leather or peau d’orange appearance. Treatment options include antihistamines, systemic and topical corticosteroids, mast cell stabilizers and psoralen with UVA. Here we reported a case of diffuse cutaneous mastocytosis with typical peau d’orange appearance, and review the literature of DCM briefly.
