Standardized decision-making

In this chapter, we introduce the concept of standardized decision-making, and we describe how standardized decision-making can be used within applied behavior analysis (ABA) and autism treatment to achieve the best outcomes for the individuals we serve. First, we define standardized decision-making, then discuss its benefits for ABA and potential limitations. We also provide some real-life, published examples of standardized decision-making. Throughout, we discuss the interdependent nature of standardized decision-making and ethical behavior in ABA, aiming to help readers achieve a higher level of care for consumers of ABA treatment.
