Flexible Broadband Overvoltage Sensor for High-voltage Power Electronic Equipment

Abstract
With the increasing application of renewable energy equipment and power electronic equipment in power system, voltage distribution in power grid operation is becoming more and more complex, putting forward new requirements for overvoltage monitoring of electrical equipment in different voltage levels and different use scenarios, not only the accurate measurement of steady-state and power frequency overvoltage, but also the effective monitoring of transient and high-frequency surge signals are demanded. In addition, more abundant application scenarios limit the volume, cost and installation conditions of the sensor. In view of the above situation, a new flexible broadband overvoltage sensor based on equipotential shielding principle is proposed. The electrical structure and principle of the overvoltage sensor are studied through simulation. The conditions of stable measurement and frequency characteristics under rated working conditions are determined. A prototype of patch flexible overvoltage sensor is crafted. Accurate measurement of power frequency voltage signal and simulated lightning signal is verified.
