Abstract
A dual-band micro-strip fed patch antenna for 5G millimeter-wave communication devices is designed. The proposed antenna consists of a slotted octagonal ring outside and a parasitic small octagonal ring inside connected by a crossed shape strip lines to obtain a dual-band resonance and wide bandwidth. The proposed antenna is designed on a low cost and easily available substrate F4B. According to -10 dB matching bandwidth, the proposed antenna gives a wide bandwidth of 1.3 GHz and 1.15 GHz and the resonating frequencies are (23.8 GHz -25.1 GHz) and (26.75 GHz- 27.9 GHz). The antenna gives a high directive radiation pattern with apeak gain of about 8 dB at 27.5 GHz
