Analysis and Handling Methods of Line Protection Action Events Caused by the Lightning Strike

This paper describes four events of protection action caused by the lightning strike in JIBEI from 2013 to 2018. In those events, there is no grounding or phase to phase fault while the line differential relay act. In addition, the inconsistency of protection action would be occurred between two sets of protection devices. In this paper, an overall analysis is made on the protection action process of four events and improving measures are put forward.
