One-step superficial electrodeposition of nickel-cobalt-sulfide for high-energy hybrid asymmetric supercapacitor

•Nanosheet array like structure of NCS prepared via simple electrodeposition method.•The chronoamperometry deposition show superior performance than the CV deposition.•The binary metal sulfide exhibited high specific capacity of 820 C g−1 at 2 A g−1.•Asymmetric device delivered ∼85% capacity retention after 45,000 cycles.
