Abstract
This article describes the development of the next-gen modified internal combustion (IC) engine based on the two-stroke working cycle with sophisticated control techniques. Owing to pollution control measures and a faster depletion rate of petroleum fuels, the conventional engines are consecutively developed with advanced engineering methods and techniques to satisfy the environmental control measures, which will reduce the power-to-weight ratio gradually. Thus, the next-gen crossbreed IC engine was introduced to achieve a greater power-to-weight ratio than the existing engines. In this article, a single-cylinder 250 cc next-gen crossbreed engine was designed and simulated using computational fluid dynamics analysis. The theoretical working cycle of the next-gen crossbreed engine was developed and the performance outcome of the engine was calculated using thermodynamic relations and the preliminary results were discussed.
