Evaluation of human adipose-derived stromal cell behaviour following exposure to Tamoxifen

•Adipose-derived stromal cells (ASCs) treated with Tamoxifen-derivatives at physiologically relevant doses show no deleterious effect on cell viability or induction of Caspase 3/7 dependent apoptosis.•Tamoxifen derivative treatment at supra-phyiological doses significantly reduces adipogenic differentiation in ASCs but not at physiologically relevant doses.•Tamoxifen derivative treatment has no significant impact on VEGF165 secretion by the ASCs.•Tamoxifen based therapy for breast cancer patients is unlikely to impede ASC based tissue regeneration strategies for post cancer reconstruction.
