•Detection performances of sample-to-answer platforms were not impacted by Omicron.•TIB MOLBIOL SNP assays identified spike S371L/S373P & E484A mutations of Omicron.•Unreported melting peak was observed in Omicron variant by TIB MOLBIOL E484K assay.•N501Y dropout was observed in Omicron variant by TIB MOLBIOL N501Y assay.
