摘要
In the present study surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy has been employed to analyze the antibacterial potential of commercially available drug containing tinidazole an imidazole derivative and lab synthesized imidazole salt (imidazolium bromide). For this purpose antibacterial activity was performed on Bacillus Subtiles and E. Coli using different dilutions of lab synthesized drug. SERS spectral results have shown the clear changes induced by the application of both drugs including tinidazole and lab drug (imidazolium bromide) on the bacterial cells indicating potential of this technique in analyzing the antibacterial assay. Varying concentration of drug in different dilutions proved very helpful in understanding how does bacterial cell metabolites undergo change after its application. Multivariate data analysis techniques including principal components analysis and partial least square discriminant analysis were found very useful in the analyzing of antibiotic effect of imidazolium derivatives.
