•A label-free electrochemical immunosensor is developed for point-of-care KIM-1 testing.•The PdPtCu@BP BNSs exhibit excellent conductive and peroxidase-like catalytic activity.•PdPtCu@BP bilayer nanosheet is first used for the electrochemical signal substrate.•The facile immunosensor exhibits encouraging properties for KIM-1 detection in urine samples.
