Abstract
•F-CuBi2O4 nanorod arrays were synthesized through a seed-mediated hydrothermal route.•F-CuBi2O4 enabled efficiently PEC oxygen reduction reaction to H2O2 production.•F− ions doping could promote separation of carries and modulate electron structure.•PEC O2 reduction reaction mechanism of the F-CuBi2O4 photocathode was revealed.
