Abstract
With the rapid development of renewable energy power plants in China, it is urgent to consider the influence of forecast error of renewable energy generation on the reserve demand. In this paper, a research of reserve standards related to renewable energy in foreign power grids is conducted, and common points of those evaluation method are summarized. Analyzing system net load fluctuation has proven to be a popular and feasible approach to quantifying the reserve demand affected by renewable energy and load. Afterwards, patterns of net load are clustered using AP clustering algorithm, and the Mathematical Morphology algorithm is introduced to decompose the forecast error curves of net load into several fluctuant components of pre-designed time scales, which are selected by considering both the dispatching period and reserve response speed. According to the specific confidence interval, the reserve demand of each time scale is quantified by calculating the amplitude of envelope of corresponding fluctuant component. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and model is verified based on case studies.
