Abstract #1183900: Severe Hypertriglyceridemia during Pregnancy Presenting with Diffuse Eruptive Xanthomas

Severe hypertriglyceridemia (HTG) during pregnancy is rare but can lead to life-threatening complications including acute pancreatitis, hyper viscosity syndrome and pre-eclampsia. HTG induced acute pancreatitis is associated with high mortality for both mother (21%) and fetus (20%). We review the clinical course of a pregnant patient presenting with diffuse eruptive xanthomas and later developed severe pre-eclampsia.
