Facile One-Pot Three-Component Strategy for 2-Amino-4-Arylthiazoles Via Elemental Sulfur Source

A novel and facile metal-free method for the green synthesis of 2-amino-4-arylthiazole derivatives through the three-component cascade reaction of aromatic methyl ketones, elemental sulfur and cyanamide is reported. This one-pot reaction features a broad substrate scope, and a notably ease of operation with H 2 O as only by-product promisingly affords a scalable strategy for mass-production.
