A self-tuning guidance method based on an onboard update of pseudospectral trajectories

The guidance of gliding vehicles in the gliding segment is studied in this paper. A positive feedback effect of the pseudospectral (PS) optimal feedback guidance is revealed for the case where the internal bias of the model is considered. A self-tuning guidance method based on an onboard PS trajectory update is proposed for this effect. In the method, the critical parameters of the model are identified online by observing the input and output of the practical system. Moreover, the identified parameters are applied in PS trajectory planning and tracking guidance. The entire process is a typical self-tuning control process. Grid inheritance and initial value update are proposed to improve PS trajectory planning efficiency. Finally, a guidance process with minor and major planning cycles is designed to increase the method's reliability. The simulation verified the effectiveness of the method and showed the potential and prospect of online implementation.
