Growth and Flowering of Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) with Three Corm Weights under Different LED Light Qualities

•Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) is referred ‘red gold’ worldwide as it is the most expensive spice.•The cultivation of saffron has been limited due to low flower yields.•Light emitting diode (LED) emits monochromatic light, which can improve crop quality and yield.•The effects of LED supplementation on growth and flowering of saffron (Crocus sativus) with three corm weights were studied.•Monochromatic red light significantly promoted saffron growth and increase stigmas yields with three corm weights.
