Abstract
Transient thyrotoxicosis has been documented in the setting of hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) as well as in gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) with profoundly elevated human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels. Thyroid storm in pregnancy is rare and typically associated with Graves disease. Here we describe thyroid storm in a patient with hCG elevation secondary to HG that spontaneously resolved in the second trimester of pregnancy.
