Library Projects of the National Scientific Library and Information Complex

The issues of integration of theoretical approaches into the practice of projects and programs become especially relevant in Ukraine due to the need to improve manageability in difficult conditions: time constraints, reduced financial stability, maximum optimization in the use of resources. The purpose of the article is to represent the authors's understanding of the concepts project, library project, pilot library project, main library project, subsequent library project basing on successful and relevant library projects of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. Scientific novelty. The content of publications of Ukrainian scholars for recent years on the role and content of project activities of Ukrainian libraries in the context of transformations and dynamic changes in modern Ukrainian library science and practice, are analyzed. It is determined that the project as a set of actions with deadlines, budget and implementation mechanism, is aimed at achieving a specific goal. It is proved that the library project is a set of actions systematized by terms, budget and mechanism in order to attract new readers of the book collection and acquaint the maximum number of users with the library services, including ones through the mass media and social networks. The essence and variety of successful and actual library projects of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine are analyzed. Conclusions. Successful and up-to-date pilot, main and subsequent library projects of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine are implemented in order to fully meet the information needs of users-scientists, popularization of Ukrainian science and its preservation, creation of a consolidated scientific, educational, and cultural space.The multifunctionality of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine as the coordinator of the library network of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the main library and information complex of Ukraine, is embodied in its mission and is actively promoted in Ukraine and the world through active use of pilot, basic and subsequent library projects.
