Our algorithm is a simultaneous 2.5D joint inversion that coherently integrates the ER data and the full-waveform response of GPR without invoking petrophysical relationships. We join full-waveform inversion (FWI) GPR with adjoint derived ER sensitivities, without the need to interpolate the GPR and ER computational domains. We compare our recovered parameters to individual FWI-GPR and ER recovered parameters. We use capacitive conductivity and neutron-derived porosity borehole measurements to validate our results. Our joint recovered conductivity resembles both control data better than the control data resembles each other, and better than individual FWI-GPR and ER results. Our joint recovered permittivity exhibits subsurface features with higher resolution than that of the FWI-GPR solution. Keywords: multiphysics, full-waveform inversion, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), electrical/resistivity, aquiferPermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2021-3576479.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails First International Meeting for Applied Geoscience & Energy Expanded AbstractsISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2021 Pages: 3561 publication data© 2021 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration GeophysicistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished: 01 Sep 2021 CITATION INFORMATION Diego Domenzain, John Bradford, and Jodi Mead, (2021), "Multiphysics joint inversion of field FWI-GPR and ER surface acquired data," SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 1716-1720. https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2021-3576479.1 Plain-Language Summary Keywordsmultiphysicsfull-waveform inversionground-penetrating radar (GPR)electrical/resistivityaquiferPDF DownloadLoading ...
