Abstract
Pain is a global phenomenon which involves two essential and distinct aspects: perception and response to pain. NSAIDs inhibit the formation of prostaglandins which are proinflammatory mediators by inhibiting nonselective cyclooxygenase enzymes both COX1 and COX2 which have a role in propagating that pain and platelet adhesion. It turned out that all NSAIDs substances disrupt the synthesis of prostaglandins and inhibit the balancing properties and protection of cyclooxygenases with the risk of injuries of several important internal organs accompanied by bleeding, liver disease, anaphylactoid reactions, bronhoconstriction. Administrating naturally extracted salicin can reduce the sensation of pain due to anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, without being responsible for the side effects that characterize the NSAIDs.
