Management Guidelines for Asthma in Young Adults

Asthma is a disease that can affect all age groups. Every age group carries with it general features and features that are unique to that demographic, such as presentation, phenotype, triggers and treatment response. Proper assessment is the first step in asthma treatment. The assessment of asthma depends on the patient's symptomatic control, risk of future exacerbations, challenges that are faced by the patient in following the correct inhaler techniques and any associated comorbidities such as rhinosinusitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, obesity, depression and obstructive sleep apnoea. In this chapter, we discuss some of the important aspects of asthma management in young adults.
