Vital Signs Revisited in the Tropics: Through the nus-cdl Tropical Technologies Laboratory

The work tells of the design and construction of an on-site test facility conceived for the tropical weather characterized by precipitation, humidity, and solar conditions. The unmanned laboratory is a test-bed for clean and sustainable technologies application covering different types of solar photovoltaic modules in the vertical application; the incorporation of edible planting system with the building façade and balcony application; and related studies of planting system interacting with natural ventilation performance. The NUS-owned laboratory is operated by solar power and provides real-time data for further analysis by research collaborators.
