A Photovoltaic fed High Gain Bidirectional DC/DC Converter on EV Charging stations Applications

A bidirectional single-stage dc/dc converter for a grid-tied inverter and EV charging station application is discussed in this research work. The proposed grid-tied inverter has a bidirectional single stage SEPIC-ZETA dc/dc converter for energy storage and transformation. An H-bridge inverter converts the dc current from battery modules into high frequency pulsating dc current. An LC filter converts the pulsating dc to sinusoidal quantity of line frequency. The proposed converter is operated by pulse commands from the microprocessor and control of Battery Management System (BMS) for charging/discharging of battery packs. Battery power are transferred to the grid by single stage power conversion strategy. LC filters are employed to remove/reduce the input current ripple and at the output of H-Bridge Converter. This bidirectional dc/dc converter is simulated in MATLAB/ SIMULINK® and the control of hardware is implemented with DSPIC30F4011 controller.
