The use of low impact development technologies in the attenuation of flood flows in an urban area: Settat city (Morocco) as a case

•Low impact development practices can mitigate stormwater impacts in the urbanized areas.•The simulation with 50-years return period shows the decrease in flow and an increase in infiltration.•The flooding and overflowing issues within the drainage system were remediated after the LID application.•The combination of two LID techniques proves the performance for stormwater management in the urban area.
