Abstract
Rationale: Undernutrition is a relatively common condition in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), especially in Crohn’s disease, that results from an imbalance between the body's supply and demands for nutrition. There are four broad sub-forms of undernutrition: wasting, stunning, underweight, and deficiencies in vitamins and minerals. The aim of our study was to assess the prevalence of some undernutrition manifestations in newly diagnosed patients with IBD.
