Iterative Polarization Optimization of Distributed On-body Relay Channels

On-body channels show significant polarization selectivity that has a great impact on the transmission quality of on-body communication links above the skin. The polarization selection of distributed relay links is crucial for channels across long distances around the body. In this paper, the channel capacity of distributed on-body relay links is analyzed, revealing the polarization dependency of adjacent hop channels and distributed links. An Optimal polarization selection scheme is proposed with an iterative optimizer for distributed relay links. The performance analysis of the simulation results based on a static human body shows that the polarization selection optimization scheme can significantly improve the channel capacity of the distributed links. Then, the fading channel is analyzed. The results show that the iterative algorithm is still effective.
