Design and Model Analysis of an Optically Controlled Frequency Selective Surface
2021 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT)(2021)
Abstract
In this paper, a novel optically controlled FSS composed of metal patches and silicon wafers is proposed. The silicon wafers perform as optically controlled microwave switches, which can manipulate electromagnetic waves through the excitation of light. Then, the factors impacting the frequency responses are analyzed, in order to derive the equivalent circuit and full-wave simulation parameters. The proposed structure is verified by both equivalent circuit method and full-wave method. It can be observed that the optically controlled FSS has wide passband and stable responses at transmission state, and exhibits good switching characteristics.
