Design of Fabry-Perot Cavity Antenna Array with Flat-Top Radiation Pattern

In this paper, the design method of Fabry-Perot cavity antenna array with good flat-top and sharp cut-off radiation pattern is given for the indoor wireless communication. In the design, dumb source elements are added around the 3×3 feed array to reduce the disparity of 3dB beamwidth between E- and H-plane. To reduce the sidelobe level, a nonuniform partially reflective surface is proposed. The simulation results show that the 3dB beamwidth of E- and H-plane is more than 60°, the drop angle from 3 to 20dB is less than 25°, the disparity of 3dB beamwidth between E- and H-plane is less than 1.5°, the normalized sidelobe level is less than -18dB and the realized gain is more than 10 dBi.
