AnnotationTopicality.In modern basketball there are significant changes in the training systems, both the level of technical and tactical, psychological and functional readiness of the body for physical activity.One of the important factors in the training process of basketball players is functional readiness.Therefore, the priority is to maintain the body's resources at a sufficient level and find optimal ways to improve them.The aim of the study.To experimentally test the impact of specialised training sessions on the indicators of functional training of basketball players during the preparatory period of the annual training cycle.Research methods.The achievement of this goal was due to the use of a set of adequate research methods: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, medical and biological methods, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics were used in the processing of various sources of informationResults of the research.According to the results of the observational experiment, the training process needs to be changed and improved during the preparatory period.In particular, it is recommended to increase the number of specialized exercises; during the special preparatory stage to reduce the number of workouts with a heavy load.During the preparatory period, 6 trainings with a large, 17 with a medium and 7 with a small load, a total of 30 trainings were conducted.There is an improvement in the studied functional parameters at the level of p> 0.05.Conclusions.We can state the effectiveness of the proposed approach to training in the preparatory period as a result of increased functional performance : VO 2 max at the level of 1.5%; changes in the control of recovery work after physical activity according to the Harvard Step Test at the level of 2.7% and the integrated adaptation rate by 2.8%.
