摘要
A prominently large portion of students firmly presumes that their Grade Point average (GPA) is a significant key factor to a successful career. The dominant majority of students are convinced that a GPA lower than 3.0 unqualifies them to be admitted to both reputable institutions for their master’s degree and their desired career. However, this assumption causes students to neglect other academic aspects that contribute to the readiness for the job market e.g. soft skills. Henceforth, the purpose of this paper is to uncover the substantial interrelationship between GPA and employability. In this context, this paper exploits data analysis methods and techniques alongside its diverse packages, such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Scikit-Learn to develop programs that filter data, arrange it, and produce illustrative plots for the project findings to present them concisely and tangibly. We first collect GPAs of Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) Alumni from the years 2018 to 2019, then we associate the obtained data with current occupations of the models inspected. Our results reveal that GPA has minimal influence on employability, which implies that students need to focus on soft skills as much as hard skills.
