Multi-dimensional method for assessing non-wires alternatives within distribution system planning

This paper introduces a multi-dimensional planning technique for non-wires alternatives integration in power systems. With this technique, planning studies can be as detailed as needed for integrating new technologies, visualizing their effect on nowadays and future distribution system. The multiple dimensions generated can be compared economically to obtain the best investment plan for the next years based on the load growth forecast, the technologies used to relieve the power system and the circuit model used for the planning study.
