Abstract
•A new Ti-based BMG (Ti40Zr10Co36Pd14) free from Ni and Cu elements was fabricated through copper-mold casting.•Ti40Zr10Co36Pd14 and Ti-6Al-4V thin films was deposited using filtered cathodic vacuum arc (FCVA).•The surface roughness of the Ti40Zr10Co36Pd14 and Ti-6Al-4V specimens was enhanced by sandblasting.•The SaOS-2 and MC3T3-E1 osteoblasts cells proliferate and well adhered on the synthesized Ti40Zr10Co36Pd14 and Ti-6Al-4V thin films surface.
