摘要

•There is a high demand for a cost effective & minimally invasive technique for cervical cancer/ cervicitis discrimination.•Raman spectroscopy can be a potential screening tool for probing cervical tissue abnormalities from blood plasma.•Biochemical alterations in cervical tissues from Raman spectra have been well correlated with the variations in plasma.•Support vector machine model discriminates malignant & non-malignant samples with sensitivity and specificity above 84%.
