Insurance-based disparities and risk of financial toxicity among patients undergoing gynecologic cancer operations

•Over 50% of uninsured and 15% of insured patients with gynecologic cancer operations are at risk of financial toxicity.•As cancer treatment costs rise across the US, the disparity in financial toxicity risk by payer status appears to broaden.•Minority race, public insurance, open operations , and complications potentially increase risk offinancial toxicity.
