•A machine learning framework is developed to predict the cable damage under coupling effects of corrosion and fire.•LS-SVM method is utilized to establish surrogate model for cable damage detection.•Effect of material uncertainties on cable damage prediction analysis are considered.•The proposed computational framework can be utilized in cable damage identification and time-dependent analysis.
