Does the nutritional composition and category of administered enteral nutrition affect the nutritional status of patients receiving home nutritional therapy?

•Blended enteral preparations and commercial enteral formulas showed higher protein, lipid and caloric density.•The infused content was lower than recommended for proteins and lipids in homemade enteral preparations.•In commercial enteral formulas, the lipid and carbohydrate content was lower than recommended.•Blended enteral preparations showed adequacy between the infused and recommended content in all nutrients.•Most anthropometric indices did not differ according to the category of enteral nutrition administered.
