Numerical modeling and analysis of hydrogen blast furnace ironmaking process

•BFs operated with different hydrogen enrichments are numerically studied.•This is done by a recent 3D CFD BF process model.•An optimum hydrogen enrichment is identified with a minimum coke rate.•Results are analyzed in terms of multiphase flow and thermochemical behavior.•Roles of reactions and energy consumptions are elucidated.
