We demonstrate the generation of correlated photon pairs in AlGaAs-on-insulator waveguides through spontaneous four-wave mixing at telecom wavelengths with a generation efficiency of similar to 0.096 x 1012 pairs/(s.W2), one of the highest achieved in integrated structures. (C) 2021 The Author(s)
