Taxonomic study of the subtribe Pemphredonina Dahlbom, 1835 (Hymenoptera: Crabronidae) with a new species and six new records from China

•The subtribe Pemphredonina (Hymenoptera: Crabronidae) in China is taxonomically studied.•One species is described and illustrated as new Passaloecus frontirugatus Bashir and Ma, sp. nov.•Several species are recognized with six new records for China.•A key to the Chinese species of the genus Diodontus and Passaloecus is given and updated, respectively.•Distributional maps of Chinese species are also presented.
