Abstract
A 0.14 THz wireless communication system, which can achieve real-time transmission of 30km sea surface with maximum bit rate of 500Mbps, is developed. In the system, the transmitter output power is nearly 2 watts by cascading solid-state power amplifier and vacuum electronic amplifier. A modem with variable transmitting rate is designed from 10Mbps to 500Mbps. An experiment over 27 km sea surface is carried out with two 48 dBi antennas. The feasibility of terahertz wave applied in long range wireless communication and well penetrability through complex and changeable sea surface environment is also demonstrated in this work.
