Abstract
The purpose of this article is to classify the sources and types of crude oils from different oil fields in different countries and regions with terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS). We measured and calculated the refractive index and absorption coefficient of 173 samples of crude oil taken from different countries and regions based THz-TDS. The unary linear regression models is applied to analyze the relationship between crude oil density, carbon content, sulfur content with average refractive index and absorption coefficient respectively. However, the result shows that the correlation coefficients are low and the refractive index and absorption coefficient of crude oil is not determined by single factor such as density, carbon content and sulfur content, but is affected by comprehensive factors.
