•Diverse Ediacaran–Cambrian limestones were documented in an accretionary wedge.•Primary limestones were deposited on slopes of seamount volcanoes.•Re-deposited limestones are associated with deep-water turbidity deposits.•Carbon, O and Sr isotope signatures can be linked with paleooceanographic interpretations.•Carbonates of OPS provide insights into the polarity and dynamics of subduction zones.
