Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the fatigue behavior of B30AVH1500 electric steel material. Also, fatigue specimens retaining the structural characteristics of the rotor were designed and tested. The fatigue test showed that the rotor fatigue specimen had better fatigue performance under higher stress levels than unpolished standard fatigue specimens. Still, the performance was worse than that of polished standard fatigue specimens under higher and lower stress levels. The propagation of fatigue cracks was analyzed using an optical microscope and a scanning electron microscope. The results showed that the mechanism of fatigue crack propagation was mainly transgranular propagation with localized secondary cracks and intergranular propagation.
